Start of play
The match starts with the umpire bowling the ball hard along the ground between the two lined-up teams at the centre.
At the start of the match the two sides shall line up in the middle of the field, each side placing itself on its own side behind the centre line. The umpire shall bowl the ball hard along the ground between the two opposing lines of players from a distance of at least five metres, the players remaining still until the ball has left the umpire's hand.

Al comienzo del partido los dos bandos se alinearán en el medio de la cancha debiendo colocarse cada bando en su lado respectivo detrás de la línea del centro. El juez arrojará la bocha de arrastrón y con fuerza entre las dos líneas opuestas de jugadores desde una distancia mínima de cinco metros debiendo permanecer los jugadores inmóviles hasta que la bocha haya salido de la mano del juez.
The throw-in: the teams line up 5 yards in front of the umpire, each behind its side of the line, and the umpire throws the ball hard along the ground between them. - At least 20 m from the boards

NOTE: To keep the field in good condition, the Umpire may throw the ball in anywhere along its centre line, but always more than 20 metres from the boards.
