Penalty 3: 40-yard hit
A free hit from 40 yards in front of goal; defenders behind the back line outside the goal, and one may cross in front of the goal once the ball is hit.
A free hit at the ball from a point 40 yards from the offending side's goal line opposite the middle of the goal. The whole offending side must stay behind its back line, but outside the goal, until the ball is hit or a hit is attempted, and once it is in play one of the players of the defending team may cross in front of the goal to try to stop the shot. No member of that side may come out between the goal posts. Players of the side taking the penalty must be behind the 40-yard line.

Un golpe libre a la bocha desde un punto situado a 40 yardas de la línea de gol del bando infractor frente al medio del arco. Todo el bando infractor debe permanecer detrás de su línea trasera, pero fuera del arco, hasta que se pegue a la bocha o se intente pegarle y una vez puesta en juego uno de los jugadores del equipo defensor puede cruzar frente al arco para intentar frenar el tiro. Ninguno de ese bando podrá salir por entre los postes del arco. Los jugadores del bando que ejecuta la pena deberán estar detrás de la línea de las 40 yardas.

- The hitter, Blue 1, on the approach
- The defending team behind its back line, outside the goal

If, when Penalty 3 (40 yards) is taken, in the umpire's opinion the free hit would have resulted in a goal, but it is stopped by the offending side having come out between the goal posts or having crossed the back line before the ball was hit, the shot shall be considered a goal for the side fouled.

Si al ejecutarse el Penal 3 (40 yardas), en la opinión del juez, el golpe libre hubiera resultado gol, pero es detenido por el bando infractor que hubiese salido por entre los postes del arco o que hubiese traspuesto la línea trasera antes de ser golpeada la bocha, el tiro será considerado como un gol para el bando perjudicado.
If, when Penalty 3 (40 yards) is taken, in the umpire's opinion the free hit would have gone wide, but a player of the offending side had come out between the goal posts or had crossed the back line before the ball was hit, or was placed illegally, the shot must be taken again.

Si al ejecutarse el Penal 3 (40 yardas), en la opinión del juez, el golpe libre hubiera resultado desviado, pero un jugador del bando infractor hubiese salido por entre los postes del arco o hubiese traspuesto la línea trasera antes de ser golpeada la bocha o se ubicara en forma antirreglamentaria, el tiro deberá ejecutarse nuevamente.
If the player comes onto the field from the wrong side after the penalty has been taken, he may only take part in play once he complies with the offside law by passing his first teammate. If any player of the side fouled is in front of the line of the ball when the penalty is taken, the defenders shall be awarded a knock-in from the middle of their goal.

Si el jugador ingresara a la cancha por el lado equivocado después de ejecutado el penal, sólo podrá intervenir en el juego una vez que cumpla con la ley del off side pasando a su primer compañero. Si algún jugador del bando perjudicado se encontrara por delante de la línea de la bocha al ejecutarse el penal se le concederá a los defensores un saque desde el medio de su arco.
NOTE: If the free hit is missed or mishit, the ball shall be in play and the attacking team may only intervene with a controlled half-swing stroke
