Injured or fallen player
When the umpire stops for an injured player, the 30 minutes they get to recover, and why a team may not change ponies during a stoppage it asked for.
If a player is injured, the Umpire shall wait for a neutral moment of play to stop play, unless in his judgement the injured player is interfering with the play, is at physical risk, or is endangering the other players.

If a player falls off his pony, the Umpire must not stop play unless he believes the player has been hurt.

When play has been stopped under point a), the umpire shall restart with a throw-in as soon as the player concerned is ready to play again. The Umpire shall not wait for any other player who may not be present.

If a player is injured, he shall be allowed 30 minutes to recover. If he has to receive medical attention, he must be taken off the field in the ambulance and a substitute must come on within those 30 minutes. Once the regulation time is up the match must restart, even three against four if the substitute does not arrive. Once recovered, the injured player may rejoin his team. He must go to the middle of the field and may come back on when the Umpire authorises it.

Si un jugador se lesiona, se le concederá un plazo de 30 minutos para que se restablezca. En caso que deba recibir atención médica, deberá ser retirado de la cancha en la ambulancia y deberá ingresar un suplente dentro de los citados 30 minutos. Una vez cumplido el tiempo reglamentario debe reiniciarse el partido aún siendo 3 contra 4 si no llegara el suplente. Una vez recuperado, el jugador lesionado podrá reintegrarse a su equipo. El mismo debe ir al medio de la cancha y en el momento que el Juez lo autorice podrá reingresar.
If a player asks for play to be stopped for some cause not seen by the Umpire, whether or not covered by the rules, the Umpire shall act as appropriate, and no player of that team may take the opportunity to change horses. If the Umpire notices that this has happened, he must make the player come back on the previous horse and shall order play to resume without waiting for him.

Si un jugador pide que se detenga el juego por alguna causa no observada por el Juez, contemplada o no en el reglamento, éste actuará según corresponda y ningún jugador de su equipo podrá aprovechar la oportunidad para cambiar de caballo. El Juez si advierte que ello ha ocurrido deberá obligarlo a ingresar con el caballo anterior y dará orden de reanudar el juego sin esperarlo.
