Duration of the match

Seven-minute chukkas, up to eight for open tournaments and six for the rest, with three-minute intervals and a longer one at half time.

   Each period (chukka) of play shall last 7 minutes, and time played over shall not be cancelled. The maximum length of a match shall be 8 periods for open tournaments and 6 periods for the rest, the final number being left to the judgement of the organising authorities of the tournament or match. The intervals between periods shall be three minutes; but if more than 6 periods are played, the interval after the fourth period shall be 5 minutes.

   Cada período (chukker) de juego constará de 7 minutos sin que deba anularse el tiempo jugado de más. La duración máxima de un partido será de 8 períodos, para torneos abiertos y de 6 períodos para el resto, quedando librado su número definitivo al criterio de las autoridades organizadoras del torneo o partido. Los intervalos entre cada período serán de tres minutos; pero si se juegan más de 6 períodos el intervalo después del cuarto período será de 5 minutos.
