Ball hit behind by a defender

A defender who sends the ball over their own back line concedes a Penalty 6 (corner), unless it touched another player or pony first.

If the ball goes out of play over the back line, sent or touched with any part of the stick by a player of the defending side, either directly or after touching his own pony or himself, the boards or the goal posts, Penalty 6 (Corner) shall be applied. If before going out of play the ball touches any other player or pony, a knock-in shall be taken from the back line.

Si la bocha sale de juego por la línea trasera impulsada o tocada con cualquier parte del taco por un jugador del bando defensor, ya sea directamente o después de tocar en su propio petiso o en él mismo, en las tablas o en los postes del arco, se aplicará el Penal 6 (Córner). Si antes de salir de juego la bocha toca algún otro jugador o petiso, se hará un saque desde la línea trasera.
Penalty 6 from above: where the ball is placed and where both teams stand until it is hit (riders drawn larger than scale)
1. Penalty 6: on the 60-yard line opposite where the ball crossed the back line, no more than 40 yd from the centre
2. The hitting team may stand where it chooses
3. The hitter, Blue 1, on the approach
4. The defending team at least 40 yd from the ball, between the ball and its goal
5. The other penalties' spots: P and the penalty's number

NOTE: If the ball goes out over the back line carried or sent by a defender DELIBERATELY, Penalty 6 (Corner) shall be applied.
